SEND Information Report

"At Newquay Primary Academy, we understand that every child is unique. We value this individuality and we are committed to providing opportunities for every child to achieve their best. We promote children’s strengths and challenge every child accordingly. Every pupil at our school shares the right to experience a broad and balanced curriculum that matches their needs, and the right to achieve to their full potential. We aim to identify special needs early in order to provide appropriate support. We aim to remove barriers to learning and thus ensure equality of opportunity for all. Throughout each child’s time with us, we value the involvement of the child, the family and the team working around the child.

SEND Information Report

Our SEND Information Report sets out what we provide for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) throughout their time with us at Newquay Primary Academy. It explains how we support them on to the next stage of their education. Our SEND Policy gives more detail about our day to day procedures.

The purpose of our SEND Information Report is to inform parents and carers about:

  • How we welcome into our school children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • How we support them in all aspects of school life and remove barriers to achievement.
  • How we work in close partnership with parents/carers and children.
  • How we make effective provision for all of our children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Our SEND Report & Policy can be viewed below;
We will keep our SEND Report under review by asking parents and children what is working well and what they want to improve.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).

CELT Graduated Approach

This CELT Graduated Approach outlines the process in which all pupils attending a school within CELT are identified as having SEND and, how, through a Graduated Approach a pupil receives the support they need. This approach involves formal review processes, agreed methods of assessing and identifying pupils and the use of data where it exists.

More information on the CELT Graduated Approach can be found below.
