Book donation

Newquay Primary Academy has been truly spoilt today, with the donation of a set of wonderful books for our pupils from Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club.

The books were all written by Ellie Jackson and beautifully illustrated by Liz Oldmeadow.

The treats didn’t stop there… they also included some wild flower packs for the children to plant around the school, to help our very special bee friends.

Thank you Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club.
Cool riders!

Tamar class were delighted to get back on our academy bikes yesterday! They have made so much progress from when we worked with them on their bikes last year.

During this half-term, all of our pupils will have the opportunity to get on the bikes and develop their cycling skills.
I wonder what grows?

This half term, Joshua class we will be asking the questions ‘I wonder what grows?’, ‘Where do animals live?’ and ‘Are mini beasts like me?’

Joshua class kicked this off by opening a vets in their classroom. The children did a fantastic job of booking appointments, doing check-ups, X-rays, treatments and caring for their class animals.
As part of this half term topic, the children are also learning about life cycles. Yesterday, Joshua class all planted their own sunflower seed. They discussed what seeds need to grown in to plants, and watched a time lapse video of how the seed turns from a seed, to seedling, stem and then flower.

The competition is now on to see who can grow the tallest sunflower!
